David Hillebrandt

David is a semi retired Devon based GP who has volunteered to push the development of the BMMS over the next 10 months. In the past he has climbed in the Indian and Pakistan Himalaya, Patagonia, Hoggar, Mongolia and Kenya and been involved in over 100 first ascents on the crags of Devon and Cornwall including three ice routes.

He was involved in the establishment of the UK diploma of mountain medicine and is a member and ex president of the UIAA medcom. He is an honorary medical adviser to the BMC and British Mountain Guides. He advises a commercial mountain expedition company.  He is  a member of the Alpine Club, the Eagles ski club and has recently been made an honorary member of the Climbers Club.
