Canadian Society of Mountain
The mission of the Canadian Society of Mountain Medicine is to facilitate the training of physicians and paramedical specialists in the theoretical and practical aspects of mountain rescue and emergency treatment of casualties in wilderness or mountain environments. These activities are conducted in accordance with the guidelines established by the International Commission for Alpine Rescue and the International Mountaineering and Climbing Federation. The society fosters learning, academic and operational excellence by working with researchers, educators, academic institutions and service providers to create a safe, fulfilling, and academically rich program.

Norwegian Mountain Medicine Society
Today, NSF is registered in the Brønnøysund Register as an interest organization. NSF is organized with a board chaired by chairman and has annual meeting each year. In addition to the board there are professional groups with different tasks. Today, there are three professional groups working with membership and information, Diploma in Mountain Medicine (DiMM) and Mountain Medicine Course (formerly known as the "Ustaoset course"). DiMM is a two-year course and the Mountain Medicine course is organized annually.

Polish Society for Mountain Medicine and Rescue
Polish Society for Mountain Medicine and Rescue is an interdisciplinary, voluntary and independent scientific association of persons interested in medical aspects of human residence in a mountain environment and mountain sports. The Society aims: 1) inspiration, conducting and coordinating research, 2) dissemination of knowledge and scientific achievements in the field of mountain medicine and related disciplines, 3) increase the safety levels of all forms of activities associated with mountains and mountain sports, 4) providing specialized, certified training in mountain medicine and rescue, 5) prevention activities for the safety in the mountains.

Spanish Society of Mountain Medicine SEMAM
The S.E.M.A.M is the Spanish Society of Medicine and Mountain Assistance. It is a non-profit entity whose aims include: 1- The study of the physiological, pathological and health problems of mountaineers and mountain dwellers, as well as rescue and rescue, in the mountaineering sport practice and its facets. 2- It also focuses on solving or improving the problems detected, constant updating and dissemination on these issues.

The objectives of WEMSSA are to: Establish a professional forum for the recognition and advancement of wilderness medical professionals; provide accredited training in wilderness medicine for its members; encourage the accreditation of its members through the Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine by partnering with the Wilderness Medical Society; advocate for Wilderness Medical Professionals and their patients in the various health and governance forums; review international wilderness medical protocols and endorse or amend them as appropriate for the South African context; develop, fund and conduct research into the locally relevant topics of wilderness medicine; establish a framework to support and promote the publication of peer-reviewed wilderness medicine literature produced by South African practitioners; foster international cooperation in the development of wilderness medicine throughout Africa.
