ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Mountain Rescue England & Wales conference 2019 in association with Integro Entertainment & Sport is being held at Leeds Beckett University (Headingley Campus) on the 7th & 8th September.
The aim of the conference is to bring the Mountain Rescue and wider Search & Rescue (SAR) community together. To review, reflect and identify opportunities and challenges in the future, as well as building even closer working relationships within the SAR community.
The conference programme will be based on a number of themed tracks running over the two days including a Medical track and Governance track. The other tracks have yet to be determined but will include a wide range of subjects taken from the suggestions put forward by Mountain Rescue Team Members who pre-registered their interest in attending the conference. These will include sessions on Search Management, App and Software Development, DEFRA Concept of Operations, Wellbeing, Training, Rope Rescue Guidelines and many other subjects. The programme is being developed with the aim to keep it as current and fresh as possible. As speakers are confirmed we will make announcements so delegates can start to think about the sessions they would like to attend.
On the Saturday evening there will be a conference dinner and bar. The dinner is included in the delegate fee and will be a great opportunity for members of the UK SAR community to do some informal networking after the first day of the conference. Dress code is casual.
Our guest after-dinner speaker is Dave Bunting MBE who will give a talk on Leading in challenging situations. For more information about Dave Bunting MBE, please Click Here.
