BMMS: Prof. Jim Milledge Mountain Medicine Bursary (The Lucky Jim Award)

The BMMS is excited to announce that the application process for the 2024 Lucky Jim Award is now open. This annual bursary of £350 is intended to support a mountain medicine project submitted by those in the early stages of their career. Applicants are encouraged to submit projects covering any topic relevant to mountain medicine. The project may be undertaken in any country.

Details

• Open to health care professionals and researchers, including students who are active in the mountains
• The applicant must be a BMMS member in good standing 
• The applicant may also apply on behalf of a group
• The project should be relevant to active mountaineers
• The award may include funds for travel
• Funding is intended to support those new to the field of mountain medicine
• Publication is expected
• It is hoped that an award by the BMMS may also open doors to other sources of funding
